Our founder, Raymond Peña, got started in the donut business as teenager in 1978 when he worked for his mother at her local donut shop. After being a Houston fire fighter for 20 years, Ray opened his first restaurant in 1996 in southeast Houston.

Peña's Donuts & Diner was an extension to the original Peña's donut shop. Aldo Salazar, owner of Peña's Donuts & Diner, since 2017 changed the name is 2025 to Peña's TX Cafe. This transition will allow us to improve our efficiency, helping us to keep costs down and provide you with faster service. 

 

We have proudly served this community since 1996, and at this location since 2016. We deeply appreciate your ongoing support of our small business.
